Modding .pet file "Hexing" Sheets with Labels
I use Excel/Google Spreadsheets in order to edit the various LNZ sections of a pet file. This spreadsheet contains labels for Cat and Dog ballz, addballz, and paintballz.

How to Import LNZ Sections into the Hexing Spreadsheets
Open Thor's Hexing Spreadsheets Resource and make a copy to your personal drive or download locally to your computer.
I actually have a separate document for each of the LNZ sections: Dogz Addballz, Dogz Ballz, Dogz Paintballz, Catz Addballz, Catz Ballz, Catz Paintballz, etc. This helps a lot with being able to look at two sections at the same time. I then make a sheet for each pet that I'm hexing. In the example image below, I created a sheet in Dogz Addballz document for the 1st gen Sunshine Husky hex named Awoo.
Make sure your Petz or Babyz game is closed. Open the pet file in LNZPro (you can download LNZPro program from Sherlock Software). Be sure to select the LNZ section on the top. Then select Adult. Copy the approrpriate section from LNZ Pro. In this example, we'll be importing the addballz section of Awoo.
Select the non-labeled part of the spreadsheet-- in the case of Addballz, it is the 3rd column. Usually the first zero to two columns of the spreadsheet are used for labels, so don't accidentally copy over it.
I usually use a text editor to help find and replace the spaces with tabs, but you can also use Google Spreadsheets to "Split text to columns". Click Data at the top, and then Split text to columns. It will ask you for the separator, and I slect Space.
Useful Features of Using a Spreadsheet to Hex
You can use the columns to sort ascending or descending order by right clicking the column heading.
I'll do an example where I want to change all of the white ballz to cream ballz. If you're new to "hexing", the LNZPro Help menu has a Pet Editing Manual that I open constantly. You can use this to view all sorts of information on a pet's LNZ breakdown. We'll use this to look at the color chart.
In the following gif, I show how I sort the color column in ascending order, then I want to find all the white colors (which I used the color chart to deduce the 10s and 15s are white). Then I replace the first 10 with a 45 and drag the 45 into all the other 10s. You can also use find and replace, but you have to make sure you're only doing this on a column, because there are other 10s in the other columns we don't want to replace with 45.
How to Put the Info Back into the Pet File
When you are finished working, you can paste it back into LNZPro. First step is to make sure the data is sorted by the ball # order. Use the left-most column and sort by ascending order.
Highlight and copy all the data. Please don't highlight the column and row labels. Please also ensure that you've got every single piece of data; don't leave out any rows or columns!
Select the entire section in the pet file in LNZPro and paste the new data in. In this example, I am going to select the entire Ballz Info section and then paste the new data into the section. Make sure you've selected the entire section (no more, no less).
Be sure to save the pet file in LNZPro. Never edit a pet file while the game is running or your hard work won't be saved. Open the game and test that the pet looks okay. In this example, we changed all of Awoo's ballz from white to cream.
When testing your pet, you can use viewing tools such as LNZLive.
